Obtain or Renew a Non-Driver ID Card

An identification card is an official document that can be used to validate your identity if you’re a non-driver or don’t have a South Dakota Driver’s License. There’s no age requirement for an ID card, and you can get one by visiting a Driver Licensing location or scheduling an appointment.

To apply for an ID card, you’ll need a few required documents.

If you’re under age 21 with less than five years until your 21st birthday, your ID card will expire 30 days after your 21- Residents Long Change Innovate Of Undocumented Vehicle Licensing st birthday. To renew your ID card, you can apply online or by mail.
